Retail Giant Invests in Clean Tech

IKEA announced it will invest $74.5 million in green technology start up companies to develop commercially viable and ecologically responsible products.
David Ehrlich at CleanTech.com reports the retail giant's GreenTech Fund will focus on five areas: solar, alternative lighting, product materials, and energy and water efficiency. With half a billion customers a year in 35 countries, IKEA is looking for five to ten companies to start working on green retail products.
